Thermal Imaging

Increase Your Energy Efficiency and Reduce Your Bills

Thermal imaging technology is a powerful tool that can complement conventional home inspection methods and offer key advantages. In the hands of a skilled home inspector who is trained and certified in its use, thermal imaging can increase your home’s energy efficiency and even reduce your bills.

How does it work?

A thermal imaging camera can detect temperature variations in indoor and outdoor surfaces, such as wood, concrete, drywall, and electrical wiring. A thermal imaging camera is an excellent tool to identify:

  • Missing insulation or voids in insulation

  • Air leakage around windows and doors and between floors

  • Broken wires in radiant flooring

  • Active water leakage

  • Overheating of wiring and electrical breakers

This powerful tool can detect a long list of home deficiencies in addition to the ones listed here.

Who uses thermal imaging?

Although many home inspectors use thermal imaging tools, not all are certified to use them effectively. At Key Home Inspections we are certified users of thermal imaging technology. Our inspectors have undergone training from The Snell Group—a world leader in infrared training certification—on the many functions of thermal imaging tools and how to best use them to get an accurate and complete assessment of a home.

Call us today to find out how thermal imaging can help you.
